Joseph Jack Allen

Joseph Jack Allen, 81, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, following a brief illness. He was born in Okatie, South Carolina, on December 21, 1944, to Elmer Ainsworth Allen and Edna Mae Brown.
Joseph proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, serving for three years, including during the Vietnam War.
Joseph enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He was an avid movie fan and especially enjoyed watching films featuring his favorite actor, Harrison Ford. He also enjoyed baking cookies and took great pride in maintaining his yard. Known as a dedicated “yard man,” Joseph spent countless hours making sure his yard was always kept in tip-top shape.
Joseph will be remembered and missed by his sisters, Jackie Kohlman and Shirley Allen; nephew, Michael; nieces, Michelle Gordon and Shannon Sculley; and many other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Ainsworth Allen and Edna Mae Brown; and his brother, Ronnie Allen.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 315 Greenwich Road, Savannah, Georgia 31404.
All arrangements are under the care of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Joseph’s memory.
